MPs Support Regional Industrialization
Several Members of Parliament echoed Gen. Saleh’s vision, calling for extension of Kapeeka-like industrial investments to Northern Uganda:
- The Arua MP appealed for stronger electricity connections to attract investors.
- The Kitgum MP requested similar investment for Kitgum District.
- The Northern Region MP highlighted the need for locals to “move into the money economy.”
Local Leaders Appeal for Land
Local government officials called on communities to donate land for industrial parks, noting that investors often leave when no land is available — increasing costs for northern consumers.
Commercial Officers Commit to Partnerships
Commercial officers from Gulu pledged to strengthen the public–private relationship, ensuring smoother project facilitation and access to markets.
Gen. Saleh’s Closing Call
“You have the land, you have the PDM funds, you have the investors — now make it work,” Gen. Saleh emphasized. “We cannot keep missing opportunities when we have all the ingredients for transformation.”
